Charcoal picture of the famous painter " Pietro Annigoni ."
Pietro Annigoni (Milan , June 7, 1910 - Florence , 28 October 1988 ) was an Italian painter , surnamed the painter of the queens from the press of the time.
Using with great mastery of the use of ancient painting techniques ( famous for his gouaches fat ) arised from the Renaissance , built his artistic career in sharp conflict with the painting styles of Modernism and Postmodernism own in vogue in the years of its activity. Realism remains faithful to until his death.
Such a predilection for the truth, quickly puts him in prominence in the field of portraiture, where the customer wants to be able to clearly recognize.
In 1955 he received the commission for a portrait of Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom ( National Portrait Gallery , London).
Equally important , but perhaps less well known , those performed for Pope John XXIII, John Fitzgerald Kennedy , Prince Philip, Princess Margaret , Lord Moran, Alcide De Gasperi and many others.
Despite being remembered as "the painter of the queens ," he had great fondness in portraying " people less well-off " , in which he was so adept at accurately describe the outward appearance as the interior.
It is in excellent state of preservation , including the author's signature and certificate of authenticity .
In the case of shipping the painting will be sent without glass.
